BetLion to Back Ugandan National Football Team

African gaming company BetLion is a very active operator right now with a product launch and a sponsorship deal which is set to provide much needed funds inside their native Uganda. The national football team is set to benefit directly under the terms of the contract while the finances should trickle down and aid the sport at all levels inside the country.

Busy Period

The announcement is timed to coincide with BetLion’s launch of a new jackpot product with high potential wins for its customers and a share of revenue going to help footballing causes across Uganda. At the same time, the operator has the high profile exposure that comes from being confirmed as the main sponsor for the national football team.

The benefits for both parties are wide-ranging and the announcement has been met enthusiastically by those that are directly involved.

Commitment

As part of our commitment to invest into Uganda, we have partnered with the Ugandan National Football Team.

said Oliver Bates, CEO at BetLion

This unique partnership substantiates our commitment to the development of football in Uganda and the wider sports.

In reply, Justus Mugisha, Vice President of FUFA – the Federation of Uganda Football Associations added.

We are definitely very happy to get another partner who is of great repute. This is because of the brand we have built over time both as Fufa and the Uganda Cranes.

Backing Development

As a national company, BetLion have that commitment to Ugandan football and to the country as a whole. They are an important employer supplying 50 direct jobs to the community so the benefits that they supply to the national economy starts here and works its way up to commercial deals such as this one with FUFA and Ugandan football.

While Uganda haven’t yet been a force on the global stage,  the national side came agonisingly close to qualifying for the 2018 World Cup in Russia only to be denied late on by a Mohamed Salah-inspired Egypt. Qualification for future tournaments is the ultimate aim for the senior players while the game in the country also needs financial input from the grass roots level upwards and that’s why this is such a welcome partnership for football in Uganda.

Exciting Times

This is a busy time for BetLion whose new product provides the opportunity for customers to win a substantial jackpot while playing their own part in the development of Ugandan football.

The game in question ties in to the Ugandan betting preference for big multiples and as such, players can pick 13-fold punts for a small outlay equivalent to 60p in UK currency and the jackpot fund is set at a mighty £30,000.

If the top prize isn’t won, the game will rollover until a winner comes in. It’s known as the Cranes Jackpot and is run on a weekly basis and a share of revenue is handed across to Ugandan football causes.

The launch of that jackpot game comes at a pivotal time in the history of BetLion. They are a proud Ugandan company and they deserve to grow along with football in the country in the wake of this positive announcement.
