BetSid Review

*Note: With BetSid suspended and the site no longer available, bettors are unable to put a bet at this bookmaker. Please check out other suitable bookmaker reviews on our website.

BetSid are a proud British company who originally took bets out of a catering van at Blackpool Football Club’s home stadium in 2013. Over the five years that have followed, they have established a number of more conventional betting shops in the north west of England before finally going online in 2017.

The operator is still committed to the UK and to their own region where they are proud sponsors of both Blackpool FC and AFC Fylde. Now that they are open to online sign ups, we took a look at what BetSid has to offer.

Sporting Markets and Odds Value

The list of available betting markets at BetSid is a concise one but it carries all of the popular options and excludes only the most obscure of niches. Greyhounds and Horse Racing are included and that will be a big plus for UK bettors who can enjoy all of the following:

American Football, Aussie Rules, Baseball, Basketball, Boxing, Cricket, Cycling, Darts, Football, GAA Sports, Golf, Greyhounds, Handball, Horse Racing, Ice Hockey, Motorsport, Pool, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Snooker, Tennis, Volleyball.

The list of specials from TV shows is quite small and there are no eSports at present but for core traditionalists, everything you need is here.

As for odds value, we might expect BetSid to appear on some of the smaller odds comparison sites in the near future but for now, it’s a case of checking individual prices. These have been shown to compete well, particularly in the core sports of football and horse racing and there are regular price boosts for an extra lift and some additional value.

Banking

At this early stage of their online presence, BetSid only offer debit cards as a source of funding. All major forms of VISA and Mastercard are accepted here and transactions are free and should be instant.

These options will suit most punters but this is one area that could be improved and we will hopefully see some eWallet providers added to this list in the near future.

Customer Service

Click on the Contact Us button at the top right of the homepage and you will uncover the customer support email address. At present, this is the only option but when we tested it, we did find things to be very fast and effective.

There is a small set of information about the company but there isn’t really a list of frequently asked questions for basic queries. As such, this is another section which could be developed and it would be particularly good to see live chat being made available some time soon.

Conclusion

As we’ve seen with the banking and customer service sections, there are some areas of the BetSid operation which are a work in progress. However, they are really minor and they don’t affect the core areas of choice and value and that’s what most of us really want.

The set of markets is a wide one and for UK punters, it’s a perfect mix with football, greyhounds and horse racing getting plenty of coverage. It’s really only the obscure niches such as chess and bowls that are missing from the list but there is little demand for those.

There’s a good set of live markets too and the prices that we checked stacked up well when we put them in front of some longer established competitors. It’s early days and we hope that the funding and help options will build but for now, there are lots of good reasons to get on board with BetSid.

Pros

  • Welcome Bonus plus offers on Lucky 15s and other Formula bets
  • Wide choice of sporting markets including greyhound and horse racing
  • Competitive odds with regular price boosts available

Cons

  • Only debit cards accepted as means of funding as at October 2018
  • Small set of help facilities and no live chat at present
