We’ve become used to seeing more bookmakers offer markets for UK customers at a time when it’s not so easy to obtain the relevant license. With Bookee, we actually have a sportsbook that is currently only available to players in Britain but not only that, we find that this is actually a brand new concept in betting.
It’s an app only service and you will therefore need to carry out a download in order to access it and from there it works in a very original way. You can find your own bets but the bookmaker will also suggest wagers to you and you decide whether to take them up by swiping left or right.
Beyond that innovation, what else does Bookee have to offer?
At every stage of this review, it’s worth bearing in mind that this is not only a brand new operator, but a completely new concept in betting and a lot of these sections will be works in progress. That’s certainly true in terms of promotions as there are no fixed offers at the time of writing but we have seen some interesting one-offs.
Bookee have been getting involved in the type of enhanced odds deals that we’ve seen from around the sportsbooks and their prices in this respect have been very generous indeed. One example saw a price boost of 40/1 on Floyd Mayweather to record a first round win in his fight against Conor McGregor in August 2017. One point to note here is that the maximum bet came in at a very generous £10.00.
This app-only sportsbook has also trialled an acca deal in the past and while we can’t guarantee what will happen in the future, there may well be some one-off or possibly some regular deals issued in the months ahead.
As of August 2017 you can only bet on four sports at Bookee. These are football, horse racing, golf and boxing. That is a small list and no-one would disagree with that but it was even smaller when the company started with just football and horse racing on the roster.
The point once again is that the bookmaker has grown since inception and we may well see that list being added to in the very near future. For now, that does at least cover four of the most popular betting options for UK players.
In terms of pricing, it’s tough for any new sportsbook to be included on the odds comparison sites but we’ve found that by focusing on just four sports for now, Bookee have been able to deliver very competitive prices and that’s an obvious plus point.
At present, players at Bookee can fund to their account using any of the main debit or credit cards and there is a minimum amount for deposits and withdrawals set at £10.00. While we’d all like to see this list expanded, by accepting cards it means that most of us can get on board and once again there is the potential to expand on this list in the future.
If you need help at any stage as a prospective or existing Bookee customer then you can email customer support and receive a fast and effective response. There are no additional options at present but there is a Twitter and Facebook account so you could try these if you are a regular user of social media.
As we’ve seen, there is a lot for Bookee to build on if they are to get every member of the UK betting community on board but this is a really good start. The list of sports covers four of the most popular options and the prices there are seriously good with the occasional promotion thrown in for extra value.
Areas to develop, aside from that small list of sports, include the funding options but the concept of an app only bookie is an exciting one. Hopefully it will be embraced as there’s lots to enjoy already and it can only get better at Bookee.
