Fun88 Returns for Spurs Link Up

Table of Contents

Spurs are a club in the ascendancy and as they return to the Champions League for only the second time in their history, it’s a good time for sponsors and partners to get involved. The sportsbook and casino Fun88 were founded in 2008 and were previously linked to the North London outfit and it’s been announced that the operator has been installed as a regional betting partner for the second time.

Territories

The arrangement, announced on Tottenham’s official website in August 2016, sees Fun88 confirmed as the club’s partner in Asian and Latin American territories. The company has a huge following in those regions but they will surely hope that the greater exposure given to them by such a legendary sporting name will help them expand across the world.

Even if the focus were to remain on those designated territories, it’s a potentially very lucrative deal for the sportsbook and casino as Spurs claim to have over 200 million fans across those regions. There are dedicated digital channels available for advertising and to get the Fun88 name in front of those people so it’s clearly an exciting deal.

Previous History

The sportsbook and Tottenham Hotspur enjoyed a similar arrangement from 2012 to 2014 and as Fun88’s Nathan Walker commented, it did much to boost the operator.

Our previous sponsorship of the Club boosted FUN88’s brand reputation and status in the industry, so we’re thrilled to once again be working with the Club,

Mr Walker said.

The targeting of Asian and Latin American territories is naturally a big bonus for any sportsbook but the deal will also see Fun88’s logo appear on the club’s website while advertising will also be in evidence at home games. That has the potential to really expand on the arrangement and to get the brand into the conscience of UK players and others across mainland Europe.

Spurs are an entertaining side and are therefore frequently showcased by the live TV cameras of Sky Sports and BT Sport so Fun88’s presence at their White Hart Lane ground will be relayed to millions watching at home, as well as many thousands inside the stadium.

On the Up

2015/16 was a very successful season for Spurs and one that saw them maintain a title challenge for a significant proportion of the campaign. Ultimately they fell short in that quest but a third place finish means they return to the Champions League – football’s elite competition.

Prize money continues to flood in as a reward for their efforts last year but they need further input from sponsorship partners in order to strengthen their squad and aim for the next target – a Premier League victory.

There are new arrivals on the playing staff in the shape of former Celtic midfielder Victor Wanyama and the Dutch international striker Vincent Janssen who arrived in North London for a fee in the region of £18.5m. Spurs are notoriously a frugal club when it comes to spending so they will rely on sponsors and backers to help fund those purchases and therefore, the funds from deals such as that struck with Fun88 will be vital.

Tottenham know that they are an attractive prospect for any gaming brand and literally stated that fact when this partnership was officially announced. In truth, it’s a contract that suits both parties with the football club seeking additional funds to help them flourish in the Champions League.

For Fun88, it sees them return to a club with whom they have previously been involved but Spurs have improved since 2014 and are a great organisation for any sportsbook to sign up to.
