Punchestown Welcomes BETDAQ Sponsorship Extension

It’s been a busy week for sponsorship, both in terms of new deals and extensions to existing arrangements and the world of horse racing has benefitted more than most. The latest announcement crosses the Irish Sea where the Punchestown course has revealed the renewal of an important deal with the betting exchange BETDAQ.

The contract centres around the Punchestown Festival, a highly anticipated event that showcases a number of top class renewals across five days in April. The operator had previously announced backing for individual races and now, as a boost to the existing arrangement, BETDAQ will also carry out vital fundraising for Irish Injured Jockeys as part of the #ChangingForTheBettor campaign.

Festival Fun

The Punchestown Festival began on Tuesday April 24th and runs all the way through to Saturday the 28th, taking in a number of important races at all levels. Included in the overall schedule are top class events such as the Growise Champion Novices Chase, the Herald Champion Novice Hurdle and the Tattersalls Ireland Champion Novice Hurdle.

BETDAQ are an important part of the event and this year they are boosting their wider coverage with their charity work which runs parallel to the Punchestown Festival over at the County Kildare course.

Multiple Benefits

The Managing Director of BETDAQ Shane McLaughlin said:

We are very pleased to have extended our relationship with Punchestown and, as one of the main partners, we wanted to use our sponsorship to highlight the fantastic work of Irish Injured Jockeys.

I’m sure there will be plenty of thirsty punters at the Festival and we look forward to welcoming them to the BETDAQ honesty bar and raising money for an exceptional cause.

In welcoming the exchange’s continuing involvement, Punchestown Sales and Sponsorship Manager Janet Creighton added:

We are delighted to welcome the BETDAQ sponsorship renewal news today. They have been wonderful title sponsors for the last three years.

The honesty bar and gold saddle cloth concepts are exactly the reason why we love working with a dynamic company like BETDAQ. They are giving back through fun and interactive ways.

Innovative

The honesty bar that both quotes refer to is just one of the innovations that BETDAQ have lined up as part of their backing to Punchestown and to injured Irish jockeys. This is a pop-up bar that will be serving an exclusive BETDAQ cocktail and on sampling the drink, racegoers will then pay what they think it is worth with the proceeds going to that injured jockeys fund.

BETDAQ are one of the more active operators in terms of diversifying their sponsorship portfolio and previously they have thrown themselves behind a specific race at the Punchestown Festival, renaming it as the BETDAQ 2% Commission Champion Hurdle.

With an involvement in Charlton Athletic added in, the exchange clearly likes to diversify but horse racing is a main focus and their continued involvement with meetings at Punchestown, and the Festival in particular, will continue to give a huge boost to all concerned.
