188Bet Step up to the Summer Plate

188Bet Step up to the Summer PlateThe World Cup is dominating the headlines right now but elsewhere in the sporting world, we’re enjoying a full summer of top class action. Horse racing’s flat season is in full swing with Royal Ascot taking centre stage ahead of some Group One renewals elsewhere and in July, an important meeting takes place at Market Rasen.

The 188Bet sportsbook has been backing the Market Rasen course for some time as an autumn and winter partner and the operator has now been confirmed as the main sponsor for the Summer Plate Ladies Day which takes place on July 21.

Popular Meeting

The summer meeting at Market Rasen is said to attract over 8,500 visitors each year and for 2018, 188Bet’s support means that the overall prize money for the day has increased by a shade under ten per cent to £143,000. Included in that overall fund is a bumper cash pot of £40,000 for the headline race of the day, the 188Bet Summer Hurdle.

Those are numbers that will help to ensure the future of this prestigious July event while at the same time, the prizes involved will continue to attract the top racing talent to Market Rasen.

Thrilled

Nadia Powell

General Manager of Market Rasen Racecourse Nadia Powell said:

We are thrilled to announce that 188BET is the new sponsor of Summer Plate Ladies’ Day in association with Lincs FM, the highest profile racing day every year at Market Rasen Racecourse.

With advance sales well ahead of previous seasons, we anticipate that we will be welcoming a very large summer crowd on 21st July, a day when our racecourse is very much in the national spotlight.

We’ve yet to locate any comments from the 188BET group but their link up with the Market Rasen course is an important one to them and they will naturally be pleased to extend and build upon their relationship in this way.

Lengthening Association

188Bet first became involved with Market Rasen back in 2016 and at the time of this latest announcement, the operator had been directly behind 63 races at this venue. They are also involved with Jockey Club Racecourses who are the parent group of the course so this is a natural fit for all parties and it’s good to see the relationship extended.

With just over a month to go until the 2018 renewal, interest in the Summer Plate was already strong with reports that VIP Packages had already sold out. Only a limited amount of general tickets were left and Market Rasen is said to be looking for the overall attendance to reach the 10,000 mark for the first time in five years.

In return for their input, 188Bet will be the most visible bookmaker on the course across the meeting and as we’ve seen, a sizeable crowd is expected over at Market Rasen for the Summer Plate. It’s a positive move for horse racing as a whole and the extended arrangement is clearly good news for the parties that are directly involved.
